Is there any 24-hour towing service included under all Allianz motor insurance products?

How many drivers can I name in my policy?
You can name up to 4 drivers in your policy, one main driver plus 3 other drivers.
Can you provide a hard copy of the policy document as I need to submit it to Transport Department and hire purchase company?
No, you will not receive a hard copy by Allianz. You will receive by email an Allianz policy pack which includes the Policy Schedule and Certificate of Insurance. Such electronic policy documents serve the same purpose as paper copies and you may use them for the said purpose.
Why does Allianz not ask for a sum insured at the time of motor policy application?
In Allianz, we want to make sure that we insure your car as close as possible to its true market value. To do that, we use a concept called Market Value.
This means the reasonable market-related value or our assessment of what the general market would pay for your car. It takes into account the age, make, model, condition, engine size and kilometres travelled. The market value may be subject to a limit, which if applicable will be shown on your Certificate of Insurance.
How do I renew my Car Insurance policy?
When offering you a renewal, we'll send you a car insurance renewal notice at least 14 days before your renewal date.
Make sure you review your renewal notice, as premiums will change from year to year based on changes to rating factors and costs of repairs or services. Please make sure your details are correct and up to date.
What is No Claim Discount (NCD)?
No claim discount (NCD) is a discount on your car insurance premium that your insurer may offer as a reward for not having made a claim against your policy. Typically, you earn one year of NCD for every year you don't make a claim on your car insurance.

In order to benefit from any potential NCD, you need to build up a claim-free driving history in your name.

New drivers won't be entitled to NCD because they've not got enough experience on the roads yet.

If you're a named driver on someone's car insurance policy, and you aren't the NCD holder, you won't be able to build up your own NCD either.

If you're thinking of insuring your car with Allianz, you may be able to bring your NCD from your former insurer with you to reduce the overall cost of your premium.
What happens to my NCD if I have to make a claim?
It all depends on what you're claiming on your car insurance for.
For example, if you were involved in a car accident and it was your fault, you may lose all of the NCD you've built up over years of safe driving.
We'll reduce your NCD in line with our step back rules which can be found in your car insurance policy document.
There are some cases where a claim won't affect your NCD. For example, if you get a chip in your windscreen and it needs to be repaired or replaced, you'll have to pay an excess - but you won't lose any of your NCD.
If you have purchased Comprehensive insurance package your NCD is protected if the total claims does not exceed HKD 100,000. That way, your discount won't be reduced even if you have to make a number of claims on your policy.
What is a Car Insurance excess?
An excess is the amount you need to contribute towards the cost of repairing your car if you make a claim. To make car insurance premiums more reasonable for everyone, we include an excess in your policy. Then, when you make a claim, you’ll need to pay your excess(es).
There are different types of excesses depending on what your claim relates to, who was driving your car and the type of cover you have chosen. If your claim is for more than one accident or event, you or the driver will have to pay the excess for each accident or event. You can find the amount of each excess you’ll need to pay on your Policy Schedule.
How can I cancel my policy?
You can cancel the Policy at any time on seven (7) days’ notice and (provided no claim has arisen during the current Period of Insurance) You shall be entitled to a return of premium less the premium calculated at Allianz short period rates for the period the Policy has been in force.
What changes do you need to inform the Insurer during the insurance period?
You must tell Allianz if any of the following changes for Your Policy to remain effective:
• You change Your Motor Vehicle;
• You modify Your Motor Vehicle (please see policy for further details);
• You wish to add another Named Driver to Your policy or amend the driving restriction;
• You change the use of Your Motor Vehicle (e.g. change from social domestic and pleasure to business use);
• You have a Claim
What to do in the event of a Motor Vehicle Accident or loss?
• Call police immediately
• Obtain the names and addresses of all parties involved and record all relevant information;
• Notify The Company at the first available opportunity.
• All documents concerning the Accident or loss must be forwarded immediately to The Company.
• For assistance during non-business hours, please call Allianz 24-Hour emergency hotline as specified in the Policy Schedule.
• Do not admit liability or discuss liability issue with any involved third party(ies)
What does Courtesy Car mean (applicable to Comprehensive insurance cover only)?
Yes, it is only applicable to comprehensive insurance. When Your Vehicle is being repaired and immobilized over 48 hours due to an accident, or if it has been reportedly stolen over 48 hours, Allianz will at its own expense and at your request supply a substitute car; the maximum total cost of this benefit will be limited to 5 calendar days and with a daily limit of HK$1,000.
What is the Windscreen Replacement Protection (applicable to Comprehensive insurance cover only)?
Yes, it is only applicable to comprehensive insurance. If there is any accidental breakage of glass in the windscreen or in the windows of Your Vehicle provided that there is no other damage to Your Vehicle, a maximum of HK$5,000 (applicable limit per year) will be paid for the repair or replacement of the glass.
